Commitment to Equity
The Equity Impact Fund is a major step in a shared journey to end hunger through philanthropy that is grounded in equity and centers community voices. It keeps the people most impacted by hunger at the center of our work; strives to elevate the root causes of hunger; addresses the unjust race-based health and economic disparities present in food insecure communities and drives investments to solutions.
Eligible organizations include Feeding America network members collaborating with community-based organizations led by or serving people of color.
We support projects in the planning or implementation phase that include practical, community-centric solutions and big ideas addressing the root causes of hunger.
We focus on areas across the country that have been ravaged by disinvestment and inequitable food systems funding work that removes barriers to accessing healthy food. See the local impact >
Louisiana-based Chenier Farms is a Black-owned multi-generational family farm on a mission to create a more robust local food system and healthier community. Partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank Feeding South Louisiana, this grantee is one of the first recipients of the Equity Impact Fund.
We invite visionary philanthropists who share our belief in the potential for lasting change to join us in the work of the Food Security Equity Impact Fund.
Unrestricted, multi-year gifts to the Fund will support equitable, inventive, and community-created solutions to address food insecurity. Together, we can create an America where no one is hungry.
